Frequently asked questions

How does United Junk Removal Service get paid if this is a free service?

You are not charged for this service because professional junk haulers pay advertising fees to participate in the UJRS network. UJRS provides new customer leads that match these requests, by zip code, and professional junk haulers pay a fee for each lead they receive. These fees do not affect your estimate.

What type of junk can you remove?

We remove any non-hazardous items that two people can lift such as construction materials, renovation debris, yard waste or even an old couch or mattress. Examples include: Garden refuse: branches, hedge clippings, soil; Furniture: couches, hide-a-beds, mattresses; Appliances: refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers; Wood: wood fencing, firewood, old lumber, construction lumber, wood ends, tiling; Basement, Garage & Attic: boxes, books, tools, tires, concrete.

Can you give me an exact price before you arrive to remove my junk?

No.  Pricing is based on volume, location and nature of the unwanted item(s). Estimates are done on-site after you point out your unwanted items are surveyed by one of our  affiliates.

 How are appointments booked?

Appointments are booked in two-hour time slots in order to accommodate unforeseen events such as traffic delays, backed-up transfer stations, or jobs that exceeded volume expectations. You will receive  a call  15 to 30 minutes before arrival.

Can you pick up my junk if I'm not on-site?

Customers should be on site when trucks arrive. That said, there are prearrangement instances that involve prepayment of services..

What is the fee for UJRS services?

Pricing is based on volume, location and nature of the unwanted item(s). Estimates are done on-site after you point out your unwanted items are surveyed by one of our affiliates.

What equipment do your affiliates carry?

Shovels, rakes, brooms and sometimes a dolly or wheelbarrow are used by our affiliates.

What do you do with the junk?

We dispose of or recycle the removed items. Most partners report that over 40% of the materials that they remove are recycled.
